ART 1155 - Introduction to Digital Photography

Catalog Description
The course introduces students to the basic process and techniques of digital photography. The course covers camera operation, shooting styles, image adjustments, and correction using image-editing software. Students will learn how to use photography as a creative tool for self-expression, social exploration, and documentation. Students will address the social impact of photography in history. A course fee is required and students need a (DSLR) Digital Single Lens Reflex camera. The Art department has a limited supply of cameras for student check out. Students should be prepared to work in the studio outside of class during the semester.
