HPER 1200 - Anatomy of Movement

Catalog Description
This course addresses the physiological and mechanical basis of movement. Topics include muscle physiology and types of muscle contractions, the body planes in which various movements occur, and the bones, muscles, and other structures that enable and support movement. This course is designed for the student pursuing a career in the fitness industry and/or a certificate in the Fitness Specialist program, the AS in Exercise Science, as well as those interested in furthering their understanding of the effects of physical activity and exercise on the body.

Recommended Skills, Abilities, or Coursework: Basic understanding of anatomy and physiology as well as basic wellness concepts including weight training, conditioning, and aerobic fitness
