MUSC 1101 - Introduction to World Music

Catalog Description
This course will introduce students to music outside of traditional Eurocentric cultures and western art music, to bring a global musical perspective to our students, and to explore the uniquely American musical culture that incorporated influences from these societies. Students will be required to attend and critique a live musical performance to complement the courses extensive use of audio recordings.
