MUSC 1149 - Guitar Ensemble Credits: 0-1
Guitar Ensemble is an ensemble that performs a variety of guitar ensemble literature and is open to students who play the guitar, bass guitar, or upright bass, or other fretted instruments and read standard music notation. This ensemble meets the requirements for guitarists pursuing the Music, AFA . Students will have the opportunity to explore a variety of guitar styles such as classical, jazz, rock, and contemporary. The guitar ensemble will participate in at least one concert each semester. See notes for required equipment. Students may repeat this course up to four semesters for credit. The purpose of this course is to provide an ensemble for students who currently play guitar or bass and read standard music notation and is not intended for those students wishing to learn the guitar.
Recommended Skills, Abilities, or Coursework: Basic guitar or bass skills and ability to read standard music notation. It is recommended that students have either completed MUSC 1102 or at least one semester of applied lessons in guitar or bass
