ART 1161 - Introduction to Sculpture Credits: 3
The course introduces the basic sculpture techniques including modeling, mold making, casting, and fabrication. Students will explore three-dimensional sculptural forms and structures including an emphasis on how formal elements relate to the world outside of an art context. The course introduces students to a variety of styles from representational to abstract and includes an overview of historic examples. A course fee is required and additional costs may be incurred based on individual student need. See course notes in eServices or contact the instructor for additional information. Students should be prepared to work in the studio outside of class during the semester.
