HPER 2206 - Exercise Physiology Credits: 4
This course introduces the science behind physical movement and provides students with an overview of the acute and chronic effects of physical activity and training on various systems of the body, including the musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory, and nervous systems. This course is designed for students pursuing a career in the fitness industry as well as those interested in furthering their understanding of the effects of exercise on the human body. Students must be able to participate in the performance of various standard physiological tests to assess strength, endurance, and cardiorespiratory fitness.
Recommended Skills, Abilities, or Coursework: Basic understanding of anatomy and physiology as well as basic wellness concepts including weight training, conditioning, and aerobic fitness
