ADCS 1120 - Substance Use Disorder Assessment Credits: 4
This course is designed to teach students the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully perform assessment interviews and diagnosis of substance use problems. Students will learn about the qualities of good assessment, motivational interviewing skills, the interview process, screening tools, the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM), and the impact on placement and treatment planning according to American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria.
Prerequisite(s) (must have a grade of C or better) or Corequisite(s): ADCS 1110 and HPER 1102 Recommended Skills, Abilities, or Coursework: Must be able to read and write at a college level as demonstrated by meeting enrollment requirements for ENGL 1121
