NURS 1162 - Health Promotion and Wellness and the Role of the Professional Nurse Credits: 2
This course introduces the role of the professional nurse in promoting health and wellness across the lifespan and includes learning about self-health and holistic client health practices. Concepts covered will provide a theoretical framework as a foundation for providing and directing nursing care. Previous humanities, liberal arts, and science and co-requisite coursework provides the basis for developing new knowledge related to early risk identification, illness prevention, and strategies to promote optimal health. Nutritional concepts, screening tools, health literacy resources, and the social determinants of health are explored.
